Book Review: Of Mess and Moxie

You know when you feel like if Jimmy Fallon just knew you, your families would be having bbq’s all the time? No? Okay, maybe I’m the only one who will admit that if celebrities knew my husband and I they would totally want to be couple friends.

Anyway, that is also how I feel about Jen Hatmaker. She is the writer I want to be. There, I said it. The way she articulates her thoughts into hilarious words just speaks to me…and millions of other women across the globe. I know we would be besties.

I wrote a book review about one of her books last year and am not even sorry to be doing one on her latest book, Of Mess and Moxie.

From the first page I’m totally captivated. I don’t want to leave the couch for the next three hours. She speaks truth about so many things. Grocery shopping with kids, holding onto good childhood memories, humanitarian work, etc. etc.

One reason I love her books is because I can actually start and finish them. The number of books I’ve started and re-started is just sad. I not only feel invigorated while reading her books I feel ready to do something as soon as I close the back cover. The funny thing is, I actually do do something! I try new recipes, reach out to old friends, try to be kinder, look for ways to improve my surroundings, appreciate my family more.

Yes, I recommend this book. I hope you adore her as much as I do and that her words brighten your day but also inspire you do something.

xo, Ashley
